History
When you talk about Concord watches you cannot suppress the feeling that you are dealing with one of the giants in the field. Concord watches was established around 1900 in the town of Bienne, Switzerland by two young watch manufacturers willing and able to conquer the world. Slowly they began to promote their brand through some really extraordinary masterpieces.

By 1915 they have managed to produce some watches with some really unbelievable engravings made with gems and precious metals. They have managed to produce the first luxury label of this century. Over the years Concord watches became the favorite gift made by United States president to the other foreign Head of States. The glamour and the notoriety gained then, made this brand seem unsurpassable.

Years went by though and Concord watches slowly gave way to other luxury brands. Around the 70’s the quartz revolution occurred. What saved this company from disaster was a spirit of innovation and technical ingenuity unsurpassed to this date. In 1979 the model Concord Delirium was released.

This was the kind of watch to make the headline of every major newspaper as it was the slimmest analog watch ever created with a thickness of 1, 98 millimeters. This is the sort of performance that other watch makers could only dream of.

But Concord watches went further still as a year later they released another version of Delirium with a thickness of less than a millimeter. That watch stands as a challenge to this date as no other manufacturer was able to create even a similar performance. The media hype around these watches was enough to keep this outstanding company in business.

Value
To date a Concord watch is seen as a masterpiece and is one of the most sought after collectible watches in existence. The jeweler reputation they gained through years remains unsurpassed. The classic models released between the two world wars are now seen as a pinnacle of fusion between jewelry and watches. The setting of gems and the aesthetic aspect of these watches are now highly appreciated.

Nowadays the possession of a Concord watch is restricted only to very few luxury watch enthusiasts and the prices for the now discontinued models can reach astronomical prices. The advent of Internet though made these watches more popular still as people shook off from the “cheap” era of the 80’s and finally began appreciating luxury watches. The performance achieved by those two watch manufacturers is finally seen at its true value and the fact that they surfaced out the cone of attention finally made the collectors see them for what they are.

Among luxury watches Concord with its refined models has reached the status of a legend and although news headlines may die out, legends never will. Perhaps this is why the prestigious Haute Horlogerie decided to give them a place among the highly celebrated exhibition, a place where only the exceptional performances of the Swiss watch making are presented.
