Swiss Titanium Watches & Our Recommendations
Swiss Titanium watches
are the ultimate in style, class, and sophistication. These desirable
and designer watches come with a variety of design quirks and styles,
but all speak volumes in terms of the quality craftsmanship involved in
their manufacture.
If you are looking
for a durable watch, then titanium is a good choice, as it is very
hardwearing. A high quality watch will include an automatic date
calendar, a scratch resistant crystal, and a screw-in crown and
case-back for water resistance to 200 meters (660 feet). There are many
reasons why people buy titanium watches, but the most popular are for
aesthetic reasons and for status level.
A titanium watch is
subtle and unobtrusive in its level of sophistication, and doesn’t feel
the need to ‘shout’ as do other, more flashy watches, such as gold
timepieces. If you are looking for a watch that has traditional style,
then the Swiss titanium watches is for you.
When purchasing a
Swiss titanium timepiece, you should look for a watch that has a
variety of functions to compliment its aesthetic design. A stopwatch
and/or chronograph function
is always desirable, as is a tachymeter (a surveying instrument used
for the rapid determination of distances, elevations, and bearings), an
alarm, and a date window.
Our Recommendation
The titanium watch market is a large one, so it can be easy to get
overwhelmed by all the choice. Let us help you along the way. One of
our favourite is the Titanium A by Swiss company Picard & Cie.
This model includes, amongst other things, hours, minutes, and sweep
seconds hands, a stopwatch, chronograph functions, and a tachymeter. In
addition to this, it has a date window between four and five o'clock
and luminous hands and markers. This watch can be purchased second hand
for around $1700.
If you are the sporting type, then there is a titanium watch available to suit your needs, check out Tissot watches which are of good quality and yet are reasonably priced.
Another high quality watch can be purchased from the infamous Swiss company Wenger.
Their Field Issue Titanium Army watch has dual time zones, is
waterproof up to 50 meters, and has a solid titanium bracelet. This
stunning timepiece retails for around $275, but can be picked up for
about $150 if you look in the right places. Yet another good choice is
the Carrera Ladies Titanium Swiss quartz movement watch. This feminine timepiece has a black, carbon fibre dial, a unidirectional rotating bezel, and is impermeable up to 200 meters.
As always though, the cream of the crop in the titanium watch world, in my opinion, is reserved for the Tag Heuer. Their Kirium Ti5 Men’s
Titanium Watch is a bold and innovative timepiece, which retails for
around $2400. The price may be steep, but the quality is unparalleled.
Complete with a case made of polished Grade 5 Titanium, this elegant
sports watch speaks volumes about its owner.
Not only that, but
its polished, unidirectional rotating titanium bezel with engraved
markers oozes with class and sophistication, and the carbon fibre dial
with luminous hands and hour markers only adds to the effect.
